FAST Lanes Relocated in Laredo
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has relocated the FAST lanes in the Port of Laredo
CBP at World Trade Bridge will begin to process FAST shipments “loads” only through the newly assigned FAST lanes that began in February. All FAST empties and FAST shipments that have an ANAM inspection will be processed through the same current process which is through lanes 1 and 2 and will be going through the WTB import lot. CBP has been asking for the cooperation from the trade community to inform the drivers of these changes. If you have any questions about the changes, please contact our Laredo office.
FDA Now Enforcing Duns Number Requirements
Is now fully enforcing the requirement for every Food Facility Registration (FFR to have a unique facility number or Duns number for the annual Food Facility Registration. Food importers that have not properly re-registered or are importing from food facilities that have not properly registered will have their food and drug entries rejected. Each FFR must be registered at their site. The registration for a corporate office or other business address will not be correct for filing.
When an FFR is submitted for re-registration, the Duns number submitted must match the Duns number in the DUNS database exactly. For example, if the Duns number has the word 1Company and the filing has Co., it will be rejected. If you receive a message that that your FFR was canceled, do not re-register the facility. The FFR can be reinstated. FDA has produced a PowerPoint presentation with a step-by-step explanation of the FFR. Please contact your Carmichael service provider if you would like a copy.
